Salsa Verde is versatile and so easily paired with many different dishes. Here is my recipe that has a hint of heat and is full of flavor.
10 tomatillos (peeled and cleaned)
1 clove of garlic
1/2 yellow onion
1/4 cup water
Salt to taste
Start by preheating your broiler. Next, line a sheet pan with foil. Place all ingredients on the pan and place it in your broiler for 5-10 minutes. (Time will depend on how hot your broiler gets). Once you see color develop, turn the ingredients over so that the other side can roast as well.
Remove from your broiler. Remove the stem from the jalapeno only and place all ingredients into a blender. Pulse a couple of times for a chunky salsa, or puree the salsa for a smoother consistency. Add salt to taste and place into a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
